65 Percent: State. Local Govts Should Set Minimum Wages

April 23, 2024: Sixty-five percent (65%) of voters say that it is best for state and local governments to set their own minimum wages that recognize differences in the cost of living in different parts of the country. A Scott Rasmussen national survey conducted by RMG Research found that just 28% believe the federal government should set a minimum wage that is the same everywhere.

The survey also found that voters are divided between those who believe it is more important to raise the minimum wage for some workers (47%) and those who think it is more important to increase the number of entry-level jobs (44%).
