Track shifts more westward, Isaias could reach SC as tropical storm

A big change came at 5 p. m. regarding Isaias’ potential impact to the Lowcountry. The hurricane continued northwestward as themodels once again made a westward shift. Over the weekend, Isaias is likely to make landfall along the southeast Florida coast. Forecasts show it then continuing north-northwestward and eventually more northward across Florida. Interaction with land and some shear should weaken the system as it heads north and northeast toward Georgia and the Carolinas.
