Summerville K9 Chaos dies 'unexpectedly' at the age of 9: SPD

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — Chaos, a K9 with the Summerville Police Department (SPD), has passed away.

A German Shepherd, Chaos died on April 18 at the age of nine. The SPD described his death as "unexpected".

According to the SPD, Chaos joined the department in 2018 and served alongside his handler, Sgt. J. Greenawalt. He was responsible for large seizures of illegal drugs, guns, and criminal apprehensions.

"K9 Chaos will be sorely missed by the SPD and the community," the department said in a statement.
