Spencer Rattler selected by the New Orleans Saints in fifth round of 2024 NFL draft

DETROIT, MI (WCIV) — The New Orleans Saints selected South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft.

During the third and final day of the draft, Rattler was taken with the 150th overall pick. He was the seventh quarterback selected, following the six in the first round, and the second Gamecocks player, following first round wide receiver Xavier Leggette.

Rattler is the first South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback selected in the NFL draft since Todd Ellis in 1990 and the third overall since Ellis and Jeff Grantz in 1976.
