South Carolina surpasses last year’s total for officer-involved shootings

For the 46th time this year, a South Carolina law enforcement officer was involved in a shooting. Last year, there were 45 officer-involved shootings in South Carolina. This one was between a man and deputies from Chester County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. S. C. Law Enforcement Division officials say that no injuries and nobody was shot from the incident. SLED officials added that the suspect retreated into his home where a multi-hour standoff ensued.
