It is important for the Trump campaign to get its evidence into the lower courts, even if they know the judges there will not be bipartisan, so there is more to use when the case about voter fraud makes it to the Supreme Court, Rep. Louie Gohmert said Saturday on Newsmax TV.
“You’ve to go get everything you can, if you’re conservative, in the way of evidence,” Gohmert told host Rob Schmitt on “The Count.” “[They have to] get their man at the trial court, even if it means losing there, in order to get to the Supreme Court with a more effective case.”
Gohmert also said, while Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, is demanding a congressional investigation into the integrity of the election, that would mean the case would go before the House Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y.
“If Nadler’s in charge of [the hearing] having it won’t do any good,” said Gohmert, also a member of the Judiciary Committee. “It doesn’t mean we won’t demand one, but if you know, that’s putting the fox in charge of the henhouse.”
That, he added, would be the same as Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic being in charge of voting machine systems.
Gohmert also slammed former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency Director Christopher Krebs, who President Donald Trump fired after he said this year’s election was secure.
“It’s so ridiculous for Krebs to have been saying for months now including on Election Day that everything is secure,” Gohmert said. “These are the very people who have accommodated fraud in their system, at least. On Election Day, in an article in Politico, he was thanking his partners in Silicon Valley for making it safe.”
There are also many Republicans looking forward to the elections in 2022 and 2024 to regain control in Washington, D.C., but that will not happen if election fraud doesn’t stop, Gohmert said.
He added, if Trump doesn’t pull out a victory in the current election, he would like to see him win in 2024, but “if this fraud is not completely exposed, it really won’t matter.”
