Man stabbed in chest with butcher knife during argument in Georgetown Co.: Sheriff

The Georgetown County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was stabbed during a domestic disturbance in Hemingway on the night of Thursday, March 28.

According to deputies, they responded to the 100 block of Cohen Drive after a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the chest.

Deputies found the man bleeding from his chest and arm inside the home, according to the deputy report.

When asked what happened, the victim told a deputy "she was trippin" before identifying the suspect.

A witness told authorities the suspect and victim were arguing in the front room when the suspect walked into the kitchen, came back and stabbed the victim with the knife.

According to deputy report, a "black butcher knife" was used in the stabbing.

Several hours later, around 12:30 a.m., deputies were called back to the home because the suspect had reportedly returned.

Deputies were then directed to the suspect at the intersection of Carvers Bay Road and Cohen Drive, where she was arrested.

Officials said the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
