(CHARLESTON, S.C.) -- A firefighter was injured in an apartment fire in West Ashley.

The blaze broke out on Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex located on Cedarhurst Avenue. Fire officials told multiple media outlets that most of the fire damage was contained to one of the eight units at the complex, however, adjacent units did sustain water and smoke damage.

Reports state that five apartment units have been deemed unsafe to live in until electrical and building systems can be reviewed.

One firefighter reportedly suffered a minor burn injury and was treated at the scene.
