(HARLEYVILLE, S.C.) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Harleyville on Monday evening.

The incident happened on Second Bend Road around 5 p.m. The South Carolina Highway Patrol said in published reports that a pedestrian was on the roadway and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The victim was later pronounced dead.

Officials said no charges will be filed against the driver of the vehicle.
