(CHARLESTON, S.C.) -- Mayor Joseph Riley appeared in a new Public Service Announcement released on Thursday that demands Congress take immediate action to prevent gun violence.

The ad featured 30 mayors from Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which is a bipartisan coalition that includes more than 900 mayors from 45 states.

The coalition would like to pass a law requiring background checks for all gun sales.
