(HANAHAN, S.C.) -- A man was arrested Tuesday night following a police chase that began in North Charleston and ended with a crash in Hanahan.

Police reportedly tried to pull over a vehicle driven by Telvin McFadden on North Rhett Avenue for an alleged traffic violation. Still, officials said in published reports that McFadden refused to stop and sped off leading officers on a chase.

The vehicle the suspect was driving later crashed in a Hanahan neighborhood and McFadden was arrested and charged with failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension.

A passenger in the vehicle managed to escape, officials said.
