(HANAHAN, S.C.) -- A South Carolina man is charged with infliction of great bodily injury upon a child, following an alleged incident in Hanahan last week.

Hanahan Police said in multiple media reports that Derek Allan Stilson threw his five-month-old son to the floor as the child was crying on Feb. 19, but didn't take the child for medical treatment until two days later.

The infant reportedly suffered a right skull fracture, bleeding behind the retinas and bleeding on the brain, published reports stated.
