Radio Free Rocky D invades the Lowcountry airwaves weekdays from noon to 3 pm!
Rocky D was born on the South side of Chicago, and stole his first hubcap at the age of two.
After graduation from a Chicago University with a BA in Professional Troublemaking (a Radio/Television degree - Rocky is one of the few people to actually make a living in what his degree is in), Rocky got a job with NBC in Chicago. It was there, while being the only non-liberal in the newsroom, that he quickly learned that "common sense truth" has no place in pop-culture, mainstream network news. Rocky then went on to work on air in Los Angeles, New Joisey, Orlando, Tampa and now in Charleston.
After being fired for "unfairly poking fun at Bill Clinton" and being told by a middle management geek that, "There is no place for a conservative opinion in Music Radio," Rocky decided to create a radio talk show that tells the truth no matter who gets angry about it.
"My Father once told me that an ugly truth is easier to deal with than a pretty lie," says Rocky. "People on the streets know a helluva lot more than the crooks and cronies in Washington, DC, that's for sure!"
This is how a once loud-n-rowdy rock-jock monster became a talk show; RadioFree Rocky D.
Rocky has been here in the Lowcountry since just before we were attacked by Muslim terrorists. The Lowcountry media has been a louder and more truthful place ever since. IM Rocky during his show at RockyD1250.

Radio Free Rocky D's Donna Darlin'
Rocky D's producer and "sidechick" is Donna Darlin'. Donna is a native Charlestonian. She attended area public schools, including Brentwood and Garrett. She completed a degree in Broadcasting at Trident Tech, and received her BA in Media Communications from the College of Charleston.
Donna has worked in radio since the early '90s and joined WTMA in September of '03 when Rocky D needed a producer (and handler).
Donna is a published writer. Read her blog at myspace.com/donnadarlin. She lives in Goose Creek with an adopted Doberman son "Stormy" (a.k.a.) "Stormin' Norman". She likes trying new things like skydiving, target shooting and motorcycle riding -- all of which she'll take up this year!
